Crown moulding and "spa day"...

This may not seem like a big deal to you, but its a BIG deal to me.  We bought crown moulding for our house a LONG time ago and have been storing it in our garage.  When Jarin left for his deployment, we agreed that it was time to pay someone else to hang it.  Well, its done!!  I'm so happy and relieved to have it out of the garage and on the walls/ceilings!!

My kids love to give me "special"treatment sometimes to help me relieve stress.  Here are a few pics of my cute kids rubbing my back and shoulders.

12 weeks down, 7 1/2 to go.

It makes me a little bit sick to my stomach when I think about being apart for so long, but we're more than half way through.  We're almost 2/3 the way through.  I've had a couple of nice pick-me-ups lately too.

First of all, its great that the kids keep doing funny things.  We had chicken kabobs for dinner the other night and Nate LOVED the skewer.  Of course, he was very closely supervised, but he just loved sticking it through his pacifier and putting the pacifier into his mouth.

After a long day of work in the yard one day, I discovered some big hooks in the trees which are perfect for a hammock.  So we picked up a nice hammock for the yard.  We all love it and we can all fit on it too!

The YMCA had a "breakfast with the easter bunny" event.  Elle and Jesse picked up WAY too many eggs, so I had them re-hide them for other kids.  They put them ALL in the same place and they were so proud!!!

Nate's at the stage where he's NOT ok with giant rabbits.  Makes sense, right?
Face painting...
Nate was playing in the mirror and having a blast.  I love how at-home our family feels at the Y.

Jesse's 4th birthday

Its been a while since I've blogged.  We've been running at the speed of light lately.  I'm not sure anybody is even reading this anymore.  Sorry for the long lag.  I have a few things to blog about, so hopefully I'll pick up the pace soon.

We celebrated Jesse's birthday last month.   Its hard to believe he's 4 already.  We started off with breakfast in bed...

Then we went to the strawberry farm and bought a flat of strawberries so Jesse could have all the strawberries he could eat.

After the girls came home from school, we went to Chuck E Cheese and let the kids play to their hearts content.  This race horse was a big hit.

Then we came home and had a strawberry ice cream cake with Chris and Pat and their son Chris.  Thanks Chris, Pat, and Chris!  Its great to have you here!
Happy Birthday Jesse!!!  We love you!!!

Week 2 and a little pick-me-up

We have survived another week! Hooray! Technically its been 2 1/2 weeks, but since I just cried for the first few days, we won't count those.

Last week, Elle had her first school program "Viva Valentine". She sang and danced along with all of her first grade buddies. And of course, she did a great job!!!

This is the reason (well, one reason) we don't plan on having more children. This is the baby doll we bought for Jesse when we were expecting Nate. I think Nate just likes having someone smaller to assert his power upon. Seriously though, he loves the baby doll!!

You know how you always see "giveaways" on blogs, but you never win anything? I ACTUALLY won something. AND its something cool that I like. I can't believe it! I won this cute Lia Sophia mother of pearl necklace from Mir at www.wantnot.net. Its a great blog, where she finds amazing deals on things and passes them along. Sweet, huh? She does giveaways all the time and she has an awesome crock pot system giveaway right now.

This is my latest project. Its a picture that was taken by my handsome pilot man. I've had it blown up huge and will mount and frame it at the frame shop soon (you know, the cheap way to frame things, because I'm cheap.) No biggee, but I'm excited about it.

A little fiasco...

I just have to laugh because this is so stupid!! I ordered my kids' easter clothes on walmart.com last night. I received a confirmation email saying my order was being processed and would be shipped to Grandma and Grandpa Evelyn in Bakersfield, CA soon. Hmmm..... red flag!! Something isn't right. I send them photos periodically from walmart.com and somehow they are my default shipping address for all of walmart's website. The kicker: "there's nothing they can do". I'll just have to make arrangements to pick them up 2500 miles away. I emailed customer service (because there's no phone #) like 2 hours after placing the order. You know what? I think it would have been easier to load all 4 of my kids into the car and drive to Walmart and buy them.

What would you do? Should I have G&G just do a return to sender? or a forward? Or should I have them return the items for me and start over? Annoying! I don't want them to have to deal with this. They're both WELL into their 80's. Maybe I won't say anything and they can open it and get a good chuckle.
